What is Colitis and Ulcerative Colitis?
Colitis means “inflammation of the colon, and Ulcerative Colitis is the more advanced form of Colitis. The symptom that indicates Ulcerative Colitis is blood in the stools. Ulcerative Colitis is usually only in the innermost lining of the large intestine (colon) and rectum. Colitis is one of the most common inflammatory bowel disorders, commonly referred to as IBDs.
