A pre-holiday detox will boost your immune system and help you stay healthy during that hectic holiday season. It will also help you come out of the gate strong in the new year.
Please note that each person is at a different level in terms of their health. For instance, if you rarely eat organic food, simply switching over to strictly organic foods for a week or two will be highly detoxifying. If you are already eating organic food you will need to take it a step further to experience any added benefit. Incorporate what you can from the list below, the more you can check off the better the results.
When is a good time start your pre-holiday cleanse... now or 1-2 weeks leading into the holidays and possibly longer if you begin to like the results.
You got this... Here we go!
Every morning before coffee, tea or breakfast drink 16-20 ounces of the best juicing recipe for detox and weight loss. I use a cold pressed juicer because it doesn't produce as much heat as the centrifugal machine, therefore keep more nutrients intact.
Ingredients for the Nutrient Rich Cleansing Recipe
1 small ginger slice
1 slice jalapeño (if you are sensitive to heat don't add)
1-2 garlic cloves
1 bunch cilantro
1 head bok choy
3-4 stalks romaine lettuce
3-4 stalks fresh fennel
1 large handful Moringa or spinach or dandelion greens or collard leaves
Juice of one to two lemons or limes peeled
Two cucumbers
6-7 leaves of kale
1-2 full heads of celery
2 - 3 apples (depends on how sweet you want your juice to be)
Instructions: Cut up the all the ingredients and juice away! Store in a glass container with a plastic top, (not metal).
Start the Water Cure
Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces throughout the day and add a pinch of Himalayan sea salt with each glass or bottle of water.
Move Your Body
Do something that makes you smile... dance, yoga, weights, or kickboxing.
Eat Clean
Chose organic vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds
Toss or reduce processed foods
Eat free range chicken or turkey, grass fed beef, or fresh caught fish
